Description: This very large finely engraved beautifully hand coloured original antique map, sea chart, of the Caribbean Island of Jamaica was engraved and published by Jacques Nicolas Bellin in 1758 - dated in the title cartouche.
A very attractive, large and detailed chart of this strategically and economically important island, by the leading French hydrographer of the period. With a lengthy text panel of observations in the lower left corner and decorative title cartouche in the upper right corner. The island is divided into its provinces with towns and villages named.
